Kim's Ghost - This is amazing!

I had the biggest fright of my life when I was called in to try my hand at ghost busting! It was at a pals house and I had often spent time there visiting. The house is lovely and bright and cheerful, with no hint (as far as I was concerned) of a ghost. Then my pal told me how all the family had experienced strange goings on. The daughter was the worst affected, she being in her early teen's at the time. Said how her wardrobe door would open and shut of it's own accord, how she would hear voices and also see misty shapes. The rest of the family also felt uneasy, there were "cold spots" here and there, plus the lampshade in the hall would sway to and for without any trace of a breeze. One night they had all been so scared by noises etc that the four of them ended up hiding under the one duvet, five if you include the cat! She asked me if I had ever felt uneasy in her home. I said no, as far as I was concerned the house had a lovely atmosphere.

I told her I had a pal who was a bit of a ghost buster and would ask her to visit to see if she could "feel" anything. So one bright sunny morning my "ghost busting" pal and I turned up. We went from room to room, me trailing behind then returned to the kitchen (it's where all women meet to put the world to rights), and sat down." Well, what's the verdict?" my hostess asked. "As far as I am concerned it's fine." I replied, my ghost-busting pal disagreed. "I sense something in the daughters bedroom" she said, " with your permission I would like to burn an incense stick and we will bless each room". So without further ado she proceeded to light a sweet smelling stick. Then leaving "mine host" in the kitchen to make tea the Ghost buster and I along with the incense stick (which she held) went from room to room down stairs. We blessed each room in our own way, I recited the Lords prayer and my pal prayed in her own way, I am not sure what prayer she uses.

We finished the down stairs and on reaching the bottom of the staircase I turned to my pal and said "shall I go up first or you?" "You go first" she replied. So I started up the stairs, feeling fine right up to the point where we reached the top. Then, oh boy, I was literally thrown against the wall by some unseen force! And pined there, gasping for breath! Tingling all over I turned to my pal, "help, what's happening?" I THINK is what I cried out! My pal just stared back at me, words failing her.

After what must have been no more then a minute but seemed like forever I managed to break free. Determined to be brave even though the hairs on my neck were still pointing to heaven in their own plea or prayer for help, we continued to move from room to room. Each room was blessed in turn. With no conversation passing between us. Finally it was completed and we went downstairs. On entering the kitchen my pal looked at each of us in turn and said "my goodness you both look like you have seen a ghost?" "I have not seen a ghost" I replied, " but I have had a fight with one!" My pal had felt the power and cold of this THING, but not been pushed like I had. She went on to say that the top or bottom of staircases is often the spot where these things "get you"! I thanked her a lot, for giving me that valuable piece of information, abet TO LATE! And then realized why she had let me go up stairs ahead of her!

Needless to say I will NOT be doing any more ghost busting!

As to the ghost or ghoul, has it gone? I hear you ask, the answer is no! But on the plus side it seems to have quieted down, and is no where near as frightening, or so they tell me.  Diane,  Brighton. England
