. Submitted by Robin: robinking@netzero.net Jamie (My daughter) and I went to the old hotel one evening to do some taping and to get some photos of the hotel at dark. Its not safe at all because of all the vandalism and construction . We got there about dusk and went to one of the side entrances because the front door had debris and logs blocking the entrance. We stood outside the side entrance, debating whether to enter or not. It was dusk outside, but dark inside, and we did not realize just how Dark it really was. We stood in the archway, not inside or out, with tape recorders running. I said "Do you want to go in?" She said "I dunno, do you?" I replied. "I dunno. do you?" We stood there and debated like this for 2 or 3 minutes, then she said, I'll go in if you don't abandon me. I said, "Okay, I'll go in first." We entered a hall, one side is a brick wall, and the other side had three of four rooms that ran along the right side of the hall. Pretty creepy in there it was, the hall leads into a big room, that used to be full of old fashioned tubs for soaking. (With feet even!) I am walking in front of Jamie, about a foot, we are halfway down the hall, and she said, "What was that?" I said "What was what?" She then replied, "Oh, maybe it was the wind." About a dozens steps later, she said, "Did you hear that?" So I stop and listen, and I hear a sound like corduroy pant legs rubbing together. I said "It must be the wind, cause there are holes everywhere." She then states, "Then why is it so still where we are, and the air is dense, almost suffocating." We walk a little further, and Jamie yells, "Okay, that's it!" Then runs out of the building, leaving me in the dark. hopefully by myself. I yell "Hey! Don't leave me in here all by myself (Hopefully)." And she said, "Get out!" So I come walking out, and I say..."What?" She said that someone was whispering in her ear, she was telling me this as she was running towards the car. As I am trying to catch up with her, I was whispering really loudly "I'm right behind you!" She told me to stop, that I was not funny. We are standing in front of the building, looking up and talking about what just happened, and we start hearing doors slamming up on the third floor, at least six doors. Also, right where we were standing was an old sign labeled, "Beware of Dog" When the doors started slamming, the dog started barking. "Are they mad because we did go in? Or that we didn't go in?" Jaime said. I replied, "I don't know." A car pulled up to the locked gate, and a man got out and unlocked the gate, I said. "Busted!" (remember, no Trespassing) I walked over to talk to the gentleman, and apologized for being on the property. He said, "That's okay. no problem. stay as long as you like, but don't go in, it's not safe in there during the day, and it's never safe at night, know what I mean?" I thanked the man who turned out to be the caretaker and real estate agent. Who was happy I wanted to buy it. We go to leave, and Jaime said "That was not funny, teasing me like that, I really did hear something." So I handed her my tape recorder, and she had hers, and I told her to play the tapes back, she told me she would if I took her to Wendy's (too much ghost hunting, forgot to eat) On the way to Wendy's Jamie eyes got wide, and she went pale as a sheet, and said. "Oh." On the tape, where we were debating about whether or not to go inside, you can hear a third voice saying, "It gets creepier in here when it starts to get dark." I said." What!? Play that again!" It shows up on both tapes, mine's a little stronger because I was standing closer to the entrance. The first time Jamie said what was that, you can't make out the noise, kind of like a whooshing sound, like corduroy, but in a human's voice, like a bunch of people whispering at once, this noise continued until when Jamie says, I'm outta here, there is someone right before she leaves, says "Quiver" in a very loud whisper, that is what she heard whispered in her ear.
