I was talking to my coworker at the office and she's been bugging me to tell you of my encounter in the Poconos (PA). So here goes.....

My cousin owns a house in Mount Pocono and I sometimes visit her for weekend getaways. She has told me that she and her husband often feel a female spirit whom they believe resides in the house with them. They have seen her reflection in glass doors and mirrors, she is dressed in the fashion of early pioneer times and most likely became active upon the house being built (the house was custom made for my cousin and her husband). They call her "Cele" though they are not aware of her true identity.

One weekend, last summer, my cuz hosted myself, Heather (my sis) and a friend of ours. We had settled down for the night by the fire and the subject of "Cele" came up. My cousin stated that "Cele" had not been around in a while, but went on to tell us of times that Cele would "pop" in and out of their, otherwise quite lives, in their little house in the woods. After a round of hot cocoa, we all retired to our bedrooms. My cousin and her hubby had the upstairs loft, Heather and I took one of the two downstairs guest rooms and our friend took the other.

It was quite a warm night, I had noticed. Being a bit stuffy, I kicked off my blankets in the middle of the night. About an hour later, I had been aroused by the feeling of ice in my veins. It was more than just being cold, I literally felt as if I was being frozen from the inside out. When all at once my sister bolted upright in bed and unprompted to do so, she exclaimed in a loud voice, "I AM RIGHT HERE!". Then fell back into a deep sleep once again. I thought to myself, "God, that must be some dream she's having." Pulling the blankets up to my chin to rid myself of this icy chill, I looked towards the wall and noticed standing at the foot of my bed was a long column of blue light. I couldn't make out where the source from this blue light may be coming from, it just lingered there. Figuring that it must be an outside house light, I rolled over and tried to do as Heather had been able to, and will myself to fall asleep once again.

The next morning at the breakfast table, I was ribbing Heather about the dream she must have been having. Heather did not recall having any dreams. I said to her, "You must have...you practically screamed at the top of your lungs as you sprung to an upright position in bed". My cousin, serving breakfast, said "What time was this"? I replied, "Oh, I don't know, about 2:30am or so". Our friend, picked her head up slowly from her pancakes and said "That's just about the time one of you girls walked into my room". She swears that one of us entered her room, stood at her bedside for a few moments and then turned quietly and left the room once more. I then said, "That was definitely not Heather, she went back to sleep, and I was watching the blue light from outside, flicker on my wall". My cousin said, "We have no blue lights around here and as far as I recall, we were both upstairs and soundly asleep".

We all agree that Cele had made herself the sixth member of the weekend vacation party. :)
