When Anomalies are not ghosts!
Jackie writes, "I own an older Ricoh 35mm camera. When I began ghost hunting, I noticed these shapes appearing in some photos. I began researching them, to figure out what they were. One night, during a rainstorm, I decided to take a roll of film, and stand on the back porch and take a few photos of the rain coming down in the back yard. Over the next day and night, I experimented with light and heavy rainfall, day and night conditions and flash/no flash. At one point, I wanted to get raindrops on the lens (I'm retiring the camera), so I tipped the camera up. When I did this, I noticed that the aperture was open, and it was shaped exactly like the anomalies in my photos! When I had the test roll of film developed, quite a few showed this shape, including some with multiples."

 Jim's Comments:

Jackie worked hard to figure out why her camera was producing these strange anomalies and her research paid off. I was present when these photos were developed and we were both amazed at how this particular camera will transform rain into "casper's" as Jackie calls them. I too looked at the aperture of this camera and sure enough it does form this strange shape. Thanks Jackie for teaching us ghost hunters another available lesson!
