Lee writes, "My dad
and I went to
Stainton cemetery
22nd March just
after 6:00pm-(uk
time). The cemetery
is only just under a
5 minute drive from
were we live, on
taking some
picture's in there
and getting home
after downloading
the picture's to my
computer I spotted
this ghostly figure
of a lady, I was
amazed at how clear
she is and as being
a member on several
ghostcam sites I
posted the picture
on there and
everyone thought it
was an awesome
capture of a ghost,
I would describe the
weather conditions
as dry, sunny breezy
and cooling down a
bit. We weren't
scared and didn't
really feel
anything. I thought
it felt rather
peaceful whilst in
there and my dad was
taking the picture's
and he took some
over the shoulder
shots. Not sure if
this was an over the
shoulder shot
though. This is the
original picture. A
copy of the original
picture with the
figure outlined and
also a crop of the
figure. Thank you."

Looks to be a
ghostly figure bowing towards the grave as if to
pay respects, or even to cry over the grave.

writes, "I just wanted to add that the building
in question is part of a sort of complex of
religion, as I like to think of it, in Pisa,
Italy which isn't too close to Vatican City at
all. That's the famous leaning tower campanile
in the background and the cathedral in the
middle. This particular building is actually a
baptistery and I believe access to those windows
may be impossible, but not sure (trying to think
back to the pictures as I've never had the
privilege of visiting the site!). I personally
find this photo fascinating given the function
of the structure itself and have been staring at
it for quite some time!

Comments:
If that's truly is the Pope, then
his head would be tipped, like he's
looking down. The
hat (it's called a Mitre) that the
Pope wears is tall and comes to a
tapered point. Not like a witches'
hat…the Pope's hat is more "spear
shaped" and very flat if you look at
it from the side. Boy, I'd like to
really believe that this is John
Paul II. Maybe like he's looking
down over the railing? To be
honest, I'm not sure if that
Cathedral is a part of the Vatican
(the Pope's home). And if it is,
then I'm still not sure if there's
access to those balconies for just
anyone. I have also found a photo
of the Pope's mitre so that you can
see what it looks like. It is a
photo of John Paul II wearing the
mitre at his coronation in 1978. the
second is a drawing that shows a
side view of the mitre.
Jim's Comments:
It
looks like the figure is standing in
front of a window to me and I doubt
anyone
would have access to that area. I
include an enlarged photo showing
the windows on both sides of the one
in question. I see no balconies in
any of the windows. Of course we
can't completely rule out photo
enhancement but I think the photo is
fascinating!

Summer writes, "I have a
picture that my husband took
when we went to Las Vegas
for vacation in 2003. While
we were out there we also
went to see the Hoover Dam.
We took the tour there and
when we were about to get in
the elevator to get closer
to the Dam, my husband took
a quick picture of the dam
through the window. We were
the last in line and I was
standing next to him, I told
him not to take the picture,
because we could get a
better one outside. But
thank goodness he did not
listen to me! Well, all our
pictures turned out except
one, which was the one my
husband, BJ, took at the dam
through the window. When I
first went through the
pictures, I was looking at
it horizontally, and almost
threw it away. Next time I
looked through them I turned
that picture vertically and
where you should have a view
of the dam, you see a
profile of a face in a robe,
hooded sweatshirt, whatever;
facing me (I am in the
reflection of the window).
As I said, we
were the last in line and BJ
took the picture quickly. It
is pretty freaky, but I did
look up how many people died
at the dam, and 96 people
were killed during the
construction of the Hoover
Dam in the 1930s. BJ and I
believe that there are
ghosts and I know I have
always wanted to try to take
a picture of one, but I
never knew that the
opportunity presented itself
when we were touring the
Hoover Dam. I am a history
major and love history, so I
feel bad holding this piece
of evidence, that is
unexplainable (except if you
do believe in ghosts) and
quite freaky!! I finally
have gotten the picture
scanned, but I am protective
of it. I also did not want
anyone stealing it, but I
cannot be selfish holding
this amazing photo. My
husband and I always watch
ghost documentaries, etc and
we have never seen any
evidence like this.
I have also
tried writing Ghost Hunters
and the Discovery Channel
about this picture like a
year ago, but never got a
response, probably because I
did not send the picture.
You are the first person I
am sending this picture to
and I do hope for a response
back, just on your thoughts
about this picture."

Hi, Summer, Jim forwarded your email and
photo for me to take a look at. Very
interesting photo! I’ve been to the Hoover
Dam and am very familiar with its’ history.
After looking carefully at your photo, I
believe that the “hood” is actually the
reflection of your husband’s shirt. It
appears that he took the photo “sideways”,
that is, he held the camera turned on its’
side as opposed to taking a photo with the
camera held “normally” (horizontally).
Since he turned the camera sideways, then
his elbow would be up in the air. The photo
is “long” or “tall” which is indicative of
the camera being turned for the photo.
Also, you’re on the left side of the photo,
which means you were standing on your
husband’s left side, and since he’s at an
angle to the window, he caught just a bit of
his reflection and not the whole thing.
However, we have not been able to figure out
what the facial profile is. It appears to
be more of a reflection than anything
physical that’s on the dam itself. There
are many photos of the Hoover Dam, and to my
knowledge, there is no staining on the dam
that may take the shape of a profile. The
only thing we could think of was if your
husband was carrying a camera bag over his
shoulder, then maybe it was the reflection
of that. But if he wasn’t carrying a camera
bag, then we have no other explanation. We
really like the face in this photo, and if
it’s all right with you, we’d love to post
this photo in our Gallery. Thank you for
sharing your photo with us, it is truly an

I want to thank you for your quick response
and your thoughts on this photo. He did take
the picture quickly and I was on his left
side. He was not carrying a camera bag, I
lost it awhile ago. Thank you very much for
your trained opinion and thoughts. My
husband and I do not mind you posting it in
your Gallery. We do not want to hold any
evidence that my husband has caught in this
picture. Thank you for your time and
response!
