The claim is this very bright little girl appeared in the cabinet


This is the letter that was submitted with the photo
Debbie writes, "What do you think of this photo? It was taken 2 years ago at my
grandfather's house. My cousin was using a disposable camera, just fooling
around taking pics of her son. This was taken in the middle of the afternoon
in the living room. It appears to myself and many who've seen it to be a girl
blowing out candles on a cake. Some people say it's a boy. This couldn't be a
double exposure I don't think so because I saw all of the other pics on the
film and they were just pics of her son at different angles and pics of her
3 kittens. There only other actual person on the whole roll of film is a pic
taken outside of a 3-year-old boy whom my cousin was babysitting earlier
that day. Also, my grandfather bought this house over 60 years ago. My mother
and all of her brothers and sisters grew up here and I myself pretty much
did too, and believe me, this place isn't haunted. Nor does this person
resemble anyone we have ever known, past or present. BY the way, there is a
light at the top of the cabinet, but my cousin swears it wasn't on at the
time. And why would it be in the middle of the afternoon?"
 

Here's Dark Angel's analysis and a lesson for us all
I don’t believe that this photo is paranormal, and here’s why:
For starters, the girl in the cabinet is lit up by the candles on the cake, and they're apparently the only light on her.  Okay, now the photo itself is of an obviously dark room.  This would have been more convincing if the room was lit up and the girl was still only lit by the candles.

The back of the cabinet is mirrored, you can see it in the bottom shelf…there's a teacup being reflected in the mirrored back. 

If the sister was taking photos of her baby, why is the baby in the very lower left corner, while the image in the cabinet seems to be the subject of the photo? 

I think what this is, is that the girl in the cabinet is a real person who is behind the photographer, and I bet the photographer thought it would make a cool photo to snap a shot of the girl's reflection in the cabinet.  I also think that the lighting above the girl is actually the candles being reflecting in the glass of either a picture or mirror hanging on the wall behind the girl, and then that's showing in the reflection in the cabinet as well.
