Lesson - These are not ghosts!
This is Jim from Ghoststudy.com. We thought it would be appropriate & informative to post a few pictures of motion blur since we get so many of them submitted each month. The first picture below looks very creepy of a supposed ghost dog on the stairs. The second picture is more clear but there is still some evidence of motion disturbance present. Just so we all know, the first sign of motion blur within a photo is the presence of gold, yellowish or orange streaks. The second thing to look for is blurred objects, especially lights and anything shiny or reflective. Those will be the first to show streaks of light or color growing from them. This is usually caused from a slow shutter speed, low light without flash, or camera movement at the time of the snap. Computer cams (in low light conditions) are notorious for this. Even Cameras with night shot have problems with blur unless they are on a tripod. The reason being, they allow the shutter to stay open longer for a clearer night photo... however, you'd better have a steady hand if you're holding the camera.
