Photo number: 5049                            Click on the above thumbnails to enlarge         Judith writes, "In late June, my boyfriend and I were in central Virginia for my mother's family's reunion.  We stayed at The Inn at Afton at the Rockfish Gap at the top of Afton Mountain, where the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive join.  Outside the entrance to the Inn, there was a small (about 15 inches tall) statue of a cat, with the base identifying it as Miss Afton.  The desk clerk told me that Miss Afton had been a stray cat who decided to stay there after being fed by Inn personnel, but that she had passed away about five years ago.  The morning we left, I took a picture of Miss Afton's marker with my digital camera.  When I uploaded the picture to my computer after we got home, I saw the attached.  The picture was taken on a clear day, and the statue is in the shade."     .   Dark Angel's comments: Coming soon       Submitted by: Judith       See all these photos at full size with no water marks - Click here   .     October_2005_Gallery!       Leering window ghost! Photo number: 5051                   Click on the above thumbnails to enlarge         Julian writes, "This was forwarded to me from a friend of mine who went on a tour of the Auschwitz concentration camp. This photo was taken in the "crematorium" section where the Nazis used to burn the bodies of those who had been gassed. At the time of this photo, my friend says that a bell had started to ring at approximately 11am and continued to ring for about 10 minutes, according to her there was no one else in this section of the camp, just before taking the photo she started to cry and had no reason to, all of a sudden she was instantly scared out of her wits and snapped a photo just before running out of the hall.
