Ghost in the doorway!
Michael writes, "I
recently bought a web cam from Best Buy. My plan was to hook it up
to my computer and using a software program to detect motion. It
snaps a picture and automatically emails me a copy. This is the geek
approach to security. The way I figure it is that I might not be
able to prevent someone from breaking in to my house while I'm away,
but at the very least I'll get a nice photo of them as they steal my
stuff. Well, imagine my surprise today (8/29/05) when the attached
photo arrived in my mailbox. I immediately sent it to a colleague to
see what he thought of it, and he identified it as a ghost. Before I
knew it, it had made the rounds at the office and everyone was
weighing in on the subject. Many people think it's the ghost of a
child. A few even suggested I leave the house immediately. Not me! I
love this old house and hope that if it is a ghost, it poses for a
few more shots. If it does, I'll send 'em along. Unfortunately,
since I rent this place, I don't know a whole lot about the house's
history or who the ghost might be of. The owners think that it was
built in 1900. All I can say it was built before indoor plumbing,
since the bathroom is a rather obvious addition to the dwelling! Oh
yeah, one more thing...there's a cemetery diagonally across the
street. Fortunately, nobody has said the house was built on an old
Indian burial ground! This photo has not been manipulated in any way
since it came out of the camera. It's a still photo taken with a web
cam, and as such, this is about as good a resolution as you're going
to get. About the photograph: This photo was taken with a Logitech
QuickiCam Communicate STX using TinCam software. The camera and
software can be had for less than 60 dollars total. The location of
the photo is the second floor of the house. The camera is against
the far wall of my office, and points at the doorway to the office.
Across the hallway, you can make out the door to my bedroom. There
are a couple of windows behind the camera, both with their shades
drawn. Since I wasn't shooting into a light source, this is
obviously not lens flare (as some have suggested). The bedroom door
should give a rough approximation of the height. As you can see, the
ghost/aberration is just a little bit taller than the height of your
average door handle. Of course, I don't know how to measure it
exactly, since the apparition appears to completely lack legs and
isn't standing on the floor!"

This photo shows what looks like a
very solid apparition of a child materializing in a doorway. Nice
capture!

Ghost walking through door!
John writes,
"This
photo was taken between 2:30 and 4:00 a.m., caught with 0 lux
setting on my web cam. I am into spiritualism. I talk regularly with
what I perceive as a spirit guide. Whether this is him or not I
don’t know. I can't really tell if it's a figure of a woman or man,
or whether or not the person has glasses on, but the funny part is I
was asking for a sign to prove there is a presence in the home. So I
set up the cam and went to bed like I do most nights. I usually only
catch orbs and EVPs. This night however, I captured this odd object
moving. But the tape did not show the figure on normal run; I had to
slow it down and catch it in a frame. My house often has voices
heard at times by different people, and doors violently bang at
night. My dog no longer sleeps downstairs; she bites and scratches
the kitchen door to get out. I have EVP tapes of voices entering the
kitchen, the dog in distress and lots of other sounds, walking,
bells and my name being called constantly. I can catch about 5 to 15
orbs a night, and sounds.”

Murdered woman in flagstone!

"I
was doing some garden work in a House near mine where about 10 years
ago a man shot his wife for cheating then turned the gun on himself,
but survived his suicide attempt. Anyway the new tenant, well, she's
been there for 7 years. She asked me and my brother to take up some
flag stone and lay a lawn for her. Anyway she was talking about the
terrible event that happened and about strange occurrences that are
happening in the house. One such even involves a women crying and
screaming....also she says she has seen the women in the front room
holding her chest before quickly vanishing. Anyway when we were
lifting the last flag stone, I noticed the image of the upper torso
of a women. Thinking it was just damp and random patterns on the
stone, I thought nothing of it. The lady came out and screamed when
she saw the apparition on the flag stone and ran inside and said
that was the face of the women! Here are the pics, coincidence or
true, I don’t know but I got a real feeling of being watched as I
finished the lawn job. The pic was taken on my phone about 2pm."

We found this story to be very
intriguing! It’s very odd how the image on the stone strongly
resembles the murdered woman. Sadly, many hauntings are due to a
ghost feeling that its’ life was cut short too soon, as is
apparently the case here. If we hear any more about this, we’ll be

Ogre in the Castle!
Antonia writes, "I was sorting through some photos and found
this! It was taken by my cousin at Muness Castle in the island of
Unst in Shetland a few years ago. We had a picnic in the shelter of
the castle walls and just before leaving, for some reason my cousin
decided to photograph the sign - maybe as a reminder to her of the
name of the castle, once she got back to Australia. We were
absolutely alone in that extremely remote place. As you can see it
is Britain's most Northern castle! There was not another soul
around! And there had been no one else there during the two hours
that we were there. And this STRANGE personage shows up in the
photo! I have puzzled over this photo again and again and can't find
any logical explanation for this 'visitor'. If you think that my
cousin might have faked it, forget it! She is an ordained Anglican
priest and is seriously not into ghosts and things supernatural. In
fact she was disturbed by it.”
Dark Angel's comments:
This is one of the strangest images we’ve ever
posted. The figure doesn’t seem to be very tall compared to the
door. If you notice, it’s only as tall as the door handle. There
are other odd features as well, including its strangely pointed
ears, and extremely short legs. Could this shadow have been cast by
some odd creature, or is this perhaps what happens when a ghost
“rots away” spiritually, in a way that’s similar to what happened to
Gollum in the Lord of the Rings stories?
Additional comments:
For those wondering about a possible statue casting a shadow, we
include this photo. You can see the door and the historical sign but

"This
photo was taken of my hubby at our old house, crazy things were
going on there (glad we moved) anyhow after taking several pics and
odd things showing up in them, I laughed and told him to smile for
the ghosts....and I see a face in the window to the right, It still
amazes people when they see it, do any of you see it? There’s
nothing in the yard on that side of the house except for a limb that
is connected to a tree that was behind the house but you cant see
the tree in the pic. All input would be appreciated."

We found this capture to be quite
interesting. Jenny writes that odd things happened around the
house, and perhaps this photo shows just who was behind all that.
There have been many photos that show ghosts peeking into or out of
windows, and we find it interesting that some ghosts seem to try to
be discreet when watching us.

"I
was working at a fairly old house here in Stokesley, UK and my
boss had taken a digital photograph of me stripping wallpaper
(no doubt to prove that I was working!!) And after uploading to
his PC he noticed two strange "lights" above my head, one of
which looks like a "fork". What could these be? the photo has NO
way been doctored I can assure you of that. I find this photo
very odd, and wonder what it could be."
Jim's comments:
We considered light
glare but after careful consideration, we ruled it out. It appears
as if either we have two separate entities... or one entity passing
through the mans head and then exiting. A most unusual and highly
captivating photo.
