Shadow Ghost

I have yet to make a
sketch of my encounter, but here's my story. I
think you'll find it rather intriguing.
When I was very young,
anywhere from 5-10 years old, I was plagued by
seeing ghosts/apparitions. I was considered to be
"highly imaginative," but now I know better. Beyond
all other things I saw, what impacted me most were
the shadow ghosts that inhabited (and may inhabit
still) my room. I am 16 now, and I still will not
enter my room unless the light is on, nor will I
open my eyes in the dark. I believe my reasoning is
valid.
The shadow ghosts would
appear regularly at night. I would usually wake up
to find them standing at the sides or head of my
bed. They were very human-like in form, and I could
make them out in the dark because their substance
was darker than the absence of light. I think I
remember eyes which were red. I didn't feel too
awfully threatened, I don't think, merely scared
because this was somewhat abnormal. I reached out
to the "main" one once. It dissipated once I
"touched" it. It came back on several more
occasions before my fear got the best of me and I
began closing my eyes to the whole ordeal.
A lot of people will say
these are the product of dreams or nightmares, but I
know they are not. I know my nightmares, and they
do not include the shadow entities. One more
encounter was slightly more physical.
I woke up to find one of
them hovering over my bed. It still gives me chills
to tell this story. I screamed, and it fell upon
me. The bed shuddered from the impact. I don't
think I've ever felt terror like that before. My
parents said it was only a dream. Again, I know
better. I felt it. I was awake. I was aware.
If you are interested, I
will be happy to include some sketches of the shadow
ghosts and try to depict exactly what I saw. I hope
